I have written a memoir of blackness as a sense and an anticipation, a parable of waiting and of wanting that is grounded neither in terror nor in peace, nor in anything absolute.
And I have made things—objects made from the assemblage of other objects—that are each complete.
And I have withheld.
— Kevin

On October 25, 7:00 pm, Browne will be joined by curator and scholar Dr. Marsha Pearce for a conversation on artmaking and identity. Taking arrival as a point of departure, they will explore a range of topics—one’s “coming into being” as an artist, the act of artmaking in perilous times, what this could mean for the Caribbean and the region, among others. Learn more about the works in the exhibition and stay for a reading by Dr. Browne from A Sense of Arrival, his forthcoming book of essays.

Wine will be served at this event. RSVP below.
